The strange infernos at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices in Abia, Anambra and Plauteau states by unknown persons is a bothersome issue in the country; just as the widely commended national peace accord by the Presidential candidates is also puzzling.
Why should adults, mostly senior citizens of the country need to sign a peace accord to pledge not to heat the polity or resort to violence after the polls? Why destroy electoral equipments few days to the election if there aren’t plans to rig?
In a country where peace and unity is supposed to abound as it is enshrined in the Nigerian anthem; it is sad that peace and unity remains a scarce resource.
