Magboro, others’ll be connected this week, says NDPHC

Magboro, others’ll be connected this week, says NDPHC The several months of blackout in Magboro, Ibafo, Mowe and other neighbouring communities in Ogun State will end this week as the 33KV transmission line that supplies power to the areas has been energised, the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited has said.

According to the NDPHC, the energised line is currently undergoing series of test to detect possible faults, adding that once the tests were completed, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company would connect the areas.

The Managing Director, NDPHC, Mr. Chiedu Ugbo, who disclosed this on the sidelines of the 16th monthly stakeholders’ meeting organised by the company, explained that construction works on the line had been completed and urged residents of the affected communities to exercise patience.

He said, “We have a line from Oke-Aro in Lagos State down to Mowe in Ogun State, which passes through communities like Magboro, Ibafo and others. We have been working on that project and its construction work has been completed.

“It is a 33KV distribution line that we are doing for the Ibadan Disco essentially, because they are the ones who have the licence to run distribution infrastructure, to own it and to operate it in that area. We are currently doing the testing since the construction work has been completed.

“And, of course, when you are doing testing with the electricity management services agencies and the Ibadan Disco, it is normal you see faults here and there. We have been identifying faults on the line and we have been fixing the faults.”
