14 Nestoil Workers Kidnapped In Port Harcourt

14 Nestoil Workers Kidnapped In Port Harcourt Fourteen (14) workers of an oil firm known as Nestoil Plc in Port Harcourt were kidnapped on Friday last week by unknown gunmen in Omoku- Elele link road in Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The oil workers were abducted on their way back to their office in Port Harcourt from a technical job they had gone for in Omoku.

MMS Plus gathered that the bus which was carrying the company’s workers was accosted and diverted to an unknown destination under heavy gunfire by the bandits.

A source privy to the incident but who preferred to speak on condition of anonymity disclosed that the workers were returning to Port Harcourt before the incident.

The source said the victims had gone to work at Omoku area and were coming back to their base in Port Harcourt before the kidnappers attacked.

As at the time of this report, efforts made to reach company management to speak on the development proved abortive as the only known contact was not connecting.

However, the Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the development and quickly added that the police had already intensified efforts to address the situation.

Omoni said, “We are combing the bushes in that area right now. Our men are all over the bushes. We are doing our best to rescue the victims and as well apprehend the kidnappers.

“We have seen the bus that the victims rod on and we believe that we will rescue the victims soonest”, he added.
