WISTA-Nigeria Celebrates Ogbeifun,Mahamah Appointment As Female Maritime Leaders in Ghana and Nigeria

Following the recent appointment of Ms. Iroghama Ogbeifun as a Board member of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency(NIMASA) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria
has applauded it as historic and another show of commitment to deepen the gender inclusivity footprint of the President.
WISTA-Nigeria also commended the appointment of Madam Jemilat Mahamah as Chairman of the Board of the Ghana Maritime Authority, “We the proudly celebrate the historic appointments of two distinguished women leaders in the maritime industry: Madam Jemilat Mahamah as Chairman of the Board of the Ghana Maritime Authority and Ms. Iroghama Ogbeifun as a Board Member of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).”
According to the e-press statement signed by the President of WISTA Nigeria, Dr. Odunayo Ani, “Madam Mahamah’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for Ghana and the wider maritime community. A symbol of visionary leadership and dedicated service, her elevation brings pride to WISTA Ghana, WISTA Africa, and the global WISTA network
“We are immensely proud of Madam Mahamah’s achievement,” said Dr. Ani, noting, “Her leadership promises bold reforms and strategic progress for Ghana’s maritime sector.”
The statement also read: “Ms. Iroghama Ogbeifun’s appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is a testament to her outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s maritime industry. As CEO of Starzs Investments and a long-standing, supportive member of WISTA Nigeria, Ms. Ogbeifun’s inclusion on the NIMASA Board reflects the growing impact of female leadership in shaping maritime governance. “Her appointment is a powerful affirmation of women’s capacity to lead and transform the industry,” added Dr. Ani.
