WiLAT Empowers Women in Logistics with AI

In an effort to enhance competitiveness and skills in the workplace, Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) Nigeria hosted its 13th annual event, emphasizing the importance of empowering women through Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the logistics and transport sectors of the country’s economy.

The occasion took place on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, and was themed “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Women’s Empowerment for Effective Business in Logistics and Transport.” It attracted industry leaders, government representatives, corporate sponsors, and advocates from both local and international spheres.

This event underscored WiLAT’s dedication to mentorship and role modeling, encouraging established women in the industry to guide and inspire future generations.

During her opening remarks, Chairperson Pharm. Khadijat Sheidu-Shabi emphasized WiLAT’s swift evolution from its Nigerian origins to its expansion into 40 countries.

Sheidu-Shabi remarked, “We are at a crucial juncture in our industry, fueled by technology, collaboration, and the increasing presence of women. I urge everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to promote gender inclusion through digital innovation.”
