Senate Committee On Marine Transport Lauds NPA

The Chairman of Senate Committee on Marine, Senator Ahmed Yerima commended the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for improved revenue generation.

Senator Ahmed Yerima applauded the NPA during the committee’s visit to NPA headquarters on Monday when the committee came on a familiarization tour to acquaint itself with the current activities of the organisation.

Yerima also commended the current administration of the NPA taking the fight against corruption in the agency very serious as he stressed that it is indeed time for change.

The Managing Director of NPA, Mallam Habib Abdullahi had told the distinguished Senators that NPA has recorded increase in revenue generation since they had upped the ante to block revenue leakages in the past three years and he assured that NPA would continue working tirelessly to achieve zero tolerance for revenue leakages.

Mallam Abdullahi also added that the Nigerian Ports Authority had embarked on lots of projects to improve the service delivery of the organisation and that the company has a resounding success in all its projects thus far.

The familiarization tour had the Chairman of the committee, Senator Ahmed Yerima, Sen. Ahmed Sanni Uman, Sen. Isiaka Adeleke, Sen. Salami Phiare, Sen. Theodore Orji, Sen. Clifford Ordia, Sen. Kabiru Gaya, Sen. Adeola Olamilekan and Sen. Emmanuel Paulka present, while the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority was in th company of the Executive Directors,  Marine and Operations Engr. David Omonibeke, Finance and Administration Mr. Olamide Oduntan and Engineering, Technical Services, Engr. Mohammed Saleh and some General Managers.
