THE ORACLE

RECIPROCAL SPOUSAL LOVE

RECIPROCAL SPOUSAL LOVEA very poor man lived with his wife whose hair was very long. One day the wife asked her husband to buy her a comb for her long hair so that it would continue to grow well and be well groomed.

The man felt sorry and said he didn’t have money even to fix the strap of his expensive wristwatch which had just broken.

The wife did not insist anyway.

On his way to work that day the man passed by a watch shop, sold his watch at a low price and bought a comb for his wife. He came back home in the evening with a comb in hand, ready to give it to his wife.

He was surprised to see his wife with very short hair. She had cut and sold her hair to buy a brand new watch for him.

Tears flowed concurrently from their eyes, not for the futility of their actions but for the reciprocity of their love.
Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important to you than your own happiness. Give love and show love where it matters, and let it be the God-centered AGAPE love.

How great our marriages/relationships will be if only we, as a people or couples, can outdo each other in love and sacrifice. How awesome it will be that each wake up thinking of what to do to make the other happy. Selfishness must not be allowed.

May your marriages/relationship receive fresh grace each passing day. Amen.
