Ocean Deep Group Gets Triple Honours At OMIS Award

It was an award galore for Ocean Deep Group at the just concluded Maritime and Offshore(OMIS) Award night as they clinched three categories of the award.  While Ocean Deep Maritime Academy received award as an Outstanding Maritime School with international and local recognition,Ocean Deep Services Limited was awarded One Of The Best Manning Agents In Nigeria.

The Chief Executive Officer(CEO)of Ocean Deep Group, Mrs Rollens Macfoy, was also  named an Outstanding Mentor of Women in the Nigeria’s maritime sector at the just concluded Maritime and Offshore (OMIS), Award ceremony held weekend in Lagos.

 OMIS award, was organised to recognise and celebrate individuals and organisations that have contributed to the development of the maritime industry over the years.

Ocean Deep Maritime Academy, according to the award organisers, has international recognition, as well as, approval of the Nigerian Marítime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), making it best among its contemporaries.

 Macfoy, who expressed surprise at the triple honour, applauded the organisers of the award for bestowing the honour on her and her companies.

She, however, renewed her commitment to manpower development of the maritime sector, stating that the industry has huge potentials to create jobs for teeming unemployed youths in the country.

She stated further that if the maritime sector is well harnessed, it can help address the economic challenges facing Nigeria and fund the nation’s budget.

She said, “I appreciate the organisers for the award. That is to say we are fulfilling our mandate in the industry. It’s also to tell us we have people who are watching over us, monitoring our activities.

“Also, this award will spur us to do more. We will ensure we hold on to the mandate if training and providing adequate and qualified capacity for the industry.”

An elated Macfoy, also attributed the success to the steadfastness, support and hardwork of her staff

She said, “I am very excited and overwhelmed over the 3 awards from OMIS.  The 3 awards came to me as a surprise because the letter of invitation I received from OMIS didn’t state so.

“I am grateful to OMIS for this recognition. I am also very appreciative to my husband who has been my pillar of support, though not in this industry but always supportive of my job and all it takes to grow in the industry
