No Airline Authorised To Test-run Flights - NCAA
The Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt Musa Nuhu, has said airlines have not been authorised to conduct test run flights.
Nuhu who made this known at a webinar yesterday on the status of the industry restart plan, said airlines which conducted shakedown flights during the course of the week had violated the regulator’s guidelines.
In his words, “Airlines must make our work easier. No airline was authorised to do test run flight. It is creating problems for us.
“The airlines know who they are and they should desist from that. You have violated the terms. The airlines must comply with all the guidelines.
“I see airlines that have already sold tickets to customers. It is illegal. You cannot restart flights till you get approval” he noted.
Recall that Air Peace an indigenous on Thursday announced that it flew all 25 aircraft in its fleet on June 24 to different parts of the country in readiness for the resumption of domestic flights.
It said the flights were aimed at ensuring that the aircraft were in good condition, having been grounded for close to three months, although they had been under storage maintenance.
Also, Dana airline carried out a test flight with a newly acquired aircraft on Wednesday for a dry run at the MMA2 terminal under the supervision of NCAA.
