NNPC Limited Provides Clarity On 2021 PAT

The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has offered clarification on the Profit After Tax, PAT, figures discussed by its Group Chief Executive Officer, GCEO, Mr. Mele Kyari, on Arise TV’s “The Morning Show” programme.

In an official statement released on June 8, NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Garba Deen Muhammad, confirmed that the company’s profit after tax for the year amounted to a substantial N674 billion as against the inadvertent N687 trillion that was mentioned during the interview.

“On Thursday, June 1, 2023, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of NNPC Limited, Mr. Mele Kyari, OFR, appeared on Arise TV’s “The Morning Show”. Among the issues the GCEO discussed was the 2021 profit margin.

“Inadvertently, N687 trillion was mentioned as the company’s Profit after Tax figure as against N674 billion contained in the 2021 Annual Financial Statement.

‘The accurate Profit after Tax figure for the Year 2021, N674 billion, was communicated to the public via our official Twitter account on 05/10/2022” the statement clarifies.’
