NCAA promises strict compliance to safety regulations

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has promised that it would continue to ensure strict compliance to safety regulations in the interest of safer skies. 

The Director-General of NCAA, Capt. Musa Nuhu, assured that the authority would not rest on its oars towards ensuring safe, secure and passenger-friendly air transportation in Nigeria.

The DG was quoted in a statement by the General Manager, Public Relations, Mr. Sam Adurogboye, while reacting to the recent awards conferred on the DG by various organisations.

The DG was penultimate week honoured at the 11th Nigerian Aviation Development Promotion (NIGAV) Awards.

A fortnight ago, the NCAA and its leader, Capt. Nuhu was honoured for being the best DG/CEO in Crisis Management post-COVID-19 Award by the editorial board of the Air Transport Quarterly (ATQ) Magazine

Other awards include the Outstanding Leadership Awards in Aviation to Capt. Nuhu and the Ease of doing Business and Business Climate Improvement Award 2021 to the NCAA.

The awards were received by the director general, Capt. Musa Nuhu, in company of the Director of Airworthiness Standards (DAWS), Engineer Kayode Isiaka Ajiboye, the General Manager (PR), Mr. Sam Adurogboye and other staff.

Responding to the series of awards, the DG in the statement said it was a challenge not to fail.

The statement said, “The last one year has been an eventful and focused one on laying the foundation for the turnaround of the aviation sector in Nigeria through strict enforcement of compliance to Nigerian Civil Regulations (Nig. CARs) under the leadership of its Director General, Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu.

“The truism that the goldfish has no hiding place is coming true for the DG and the NCAA he pilots following the avalanche of awards and recognitions for the sterling performance and successes recorded by the DG and the country’s aviation regulatory authority in 2021.

“In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu organised a series of virtual meetings on a regular basis to chart the way forward with industry stakeholders, agencies and players both within the country and outside. These efforts earned him global commendation.”
