MARASSON Partners NIMASA To Develop Efficient Research Centre

The Maritime Authors and Researchers Association of Nigeria (MARASSON) has expressed willingness to partner with the Nigerian Maritime Administrative and Safety Agency (NIMASA) in developing a polished and well-equipped research centre.
MARASSON made this proposal when it paid a courtesy call to NIMASA on Thursday last week.
According to Dr. Ikokide Zebulon who led the MARASSON delegation, the main objective of the meeting took place at the NIMASA’s Kiri-kiri office, was to introduce, solicit for partnership and collaboration with the NIMASA Management.
Dr. Ikokide laid emphasis on how the association will be of good benefit to both the government and private individuals.
He stated that the association would be able to handle certain issues the government is unable to complete, explaining that the association would set a standard which the public sectors will emulate.
The National President further explained that this can be achieved when the association is morally and financial supported by the shipping organization.
During the welcome address by the NIMASA team head, Mr. Adekoya Adeyinka, commended the MARASSON team for its robust proposal it submitted previously, which lead to the courtesy call.
However, he said that he will like the association to provide more information on the details on the actualization of proposal submitted.
Dr. Ikokide Zebulun gave a brief extract of the aims and objectives which their immediate desire is to acquire a dedicated, polished and equipped research centre, hence, their drive for industry collaboration and partnership.
The National Secretary/Project Co-ordinator, Mr. A. O. Vincent, in his remarks highlighted how the group intended to achieve their aims and objectives.
He informed both teams that if the desire to acquire a dedicated, polished and equipped research centre was actualized, the association would get people who are supposed to run the maritime industry, educate people on the opportunities in the maritime industry and the libraries of Nigerian universities would be equipped with information relating to maritime.
