Kwara State Government Renovates Oro General Hospital
… As ANLCA BOT Member Sets Up Healthcare Centre
Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has allocated N150million for the renovation of Oro general hospital at Okeola-Oro in Irepodun local government area.
The Governor was represented by the Commissioner of health- Alhaji Sulaiman Bolaji Alege, also informed that all paperwork has been concluded but a snag holding execution is the encroachment on the site.
“Once the issue is resolved, work on the general hospital will commence” Alhaji Sulaiman said.
Meanwhile, a BOT Member of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha’s foundation has championed the renovation and equipping of the Oro primary healthcare Centre with state of the art medical facilities for testing all ailments especially Blood Pressure (BP), sugar level, eye diseases, prostate cancer, etc.
The founder, Alhaji Mustapha stressed that he was not doing the project to gain popularity or to enable him contend for any public office, but to satisfy an inner urge to render service, especially to his community.
According to him, the foundation (TMF) which was officially launched on the day the Oro Healthcare Centre was commissioned, was a vehicle designed to empower the youths, sponsor the needy to acquire requisite education for self development and healthcare delivery to his community and beyond.
The National President of the Association of Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olayiwola Shittu was the Guest of Honour at the occasion and he gave a short remark about Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, and made a token donation towards the sustenance of the Oro Healthcare Centre.
Mrs. Atinuke Balogun, a sister of Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, and also a practicing registered nurse in the UK gave a health regulating, precautionary talk, informing those with symptoms of any ailment to seek health practitioner’s attention whenever they feel any distress in their body system. She also implored the Commissioner of health to post a resident doctor to the healthcare Centre, for the full potential of the Oro healthcare Centre to be realized.
