Ekene Ajunwa Wins NAGAFF  Seat In Seme

The incumbent chairman of the Seme chapter of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Eze Ekene Ajunwa has been re-elected the chairman of the chapter for the second term unopposed in an election organised by the association last week.

Addressing news men after the poll, Ekene said he had aspired for the position to help advance the course of members of the association within the border post.

Speaking, he said “with that I can be able to represent my people properly, as regard challenges faced at the border posts “he stated.

“Presently I am the newly elected chairman of the Seme chapter, and after my tenure , I am thinking of coming to the national and I thinking on how to sanitise the whole border ”

Describing the election as free and fair, he reiterated that part of his plans at the chapter for members, is to ensure that they are duly registered with the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

According to him, the interest of members will protected because the chapter holds in high esteem, individuals operating from the border.

Meanwhile, the position of Secretary General went to Esezobor with 66 votes against Iroha Samson Iheme who scored 52 votes while Suliaman was unopposed for the position of vice chairmanship.

However, Alloysius Onyenibedi was elected as Complaints, Discipline and Ethics Officer with 88 votes against Echebuzor Chinwe Regina with 16 votes.

Ukachi Charity Kaine was elected unopposed for the position the position of Public Liasion Officer (PLO) while Okechukwu Nonny Phillies was also unopposed for the post of welfare secretary.

Ike Chike Adaide was elected unopposed for the position of Customer Relations Officer (CRO) while Ayeni Olumuyiwa Adeyanju was voted for the Public Relations Officer (PRO) position with 84 votes against Ifeanyi Enweosor who polled 14 votes out of the total 124 votes.

It could be recalled that prior to the election, there were allegations of members being imported from other chapters to participate in the election which according to candidates negates the constitution of the association.

The chairmanship candidate who was so alleged ended up not participating in the election due to what the NAGAFF Electoral Commission (NECOM) Chairman, Okey Nerus when asked why the other candidate did not participate, said, ”at the instance of the candidates.”
