Customs Generate N145.6bn At Tincan Island Port
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Command has generated N145,599,141,314.00 between the month of January and July 2015.
Evidently, the effects of the Federal Government’s Auto Policy and Monetary Policy has taken a toll on the revenue generation of Customs which is a far cry from the N162,251,051,735.00 generated at the same period in 2014.
This is in contrast with the new directive from the Ag. Controller General of Customs (ACGC), Dr. John Atte that revenue generation target of Customs should be increased from N13billion to N35billion weekly.
The break down is as follows; N20,956,156,286.00 was generated in January, N19,215,678,333.00 in February, N21,500,487,332.00 in March, N20,301,264,766.00 in April, N18,220,327,882.00 in May, N23,354,171,031.00 in June and in July N22,051,056,884.00, to culminate at a total of N145,599,141,314.00.
