The much anticipated Governing Board elections for the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has been concluded with the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) occupying more than half of the 15 positions contested.

Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) picked five slots, while the Association of Registered Freight Forwarders in Nigeria (AREFFN) got one position.

The election results obtained by MMS Plus, showed that Hon. Princess Chi Ezeh got the highest votes at the polls with 224 votes to reemerge as the only elected woman on the board as the Financial Secretary of ANLCA, Hajia Bola Muse narrowly missed out by 2 votes to come sixth in the keenly contested election.

Despite aggressively fighting for the 6-6-1-1-1 sharing formula, NAGAFF jettisoned the process as it fielded 10 candidates and successfully took up slots that would have gone to the National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA), Nigerian Air Freight Forwarders and Consolidators (NAFFAC) and one of ANLCA’s slot.

Meanwhile, the immediate-past President of NAGAFF, Dr. Increase Uche was able to secure his reelection into the CRFFN Governing Board despite his fallout with the NAGAFF leadership.

The new Governing Board members are; Princess Chi Ezeh with 224 votes (NAGAFF), Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim 179 votes (NAGAFF), Ndubuisi Uzoegbo 147 votes (NAGAFF), Awogbemi Timothy 145 votes (NAGAFF), Chief Increase Uche 121 votes (NAGAFF/Independent), Chukwunonso Ejikeme 120 votes (NAGAFF), Tochukwu Ezisi 110 votes (NAGAFF).

Others are: Ekemezie Ifeanyi 72 votes (NAGAFF), Dr Farinto Collins Kayode 72 votes (ANLCA), Muftahu Ya’u 91 votes (NAGAFF), Chief Henry Njoku 63 votes (ANLCA), Bala Rabiu Lawan 54 votes (AREFFN), Isikaku Ifeanyi Goddy 52 votes (ANLCA), Kingsley O. Offor 44 votes (ANLCA) and Christopher C. Okafor 26 votes (ANLCA).
