ICRC DG ‘Izuwah Is Dead

Following prolonged illness, the Director General of Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) Engr. Chidi Izuwah died yesterday morning.

According to an insider at the ICRC, who spoke with MMS Plus in confidence, the deceased had been receiving medical attention in South Africa for over a year.

However, it was gathered that the ICRC boss returned to the country before he died.

In 2019, the Senate confirmed Izuwah’s appointment as ICRC Director General after President Muhammadu Buhari nominated him for the position.

Izuwah, a member Strategic Steering Committee World Association of PPP Units and PPP Professionals (WAPPP), graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and had a master’s degree in hydraulic engineering from the University of New Castle Upon Tyne in the United Kingdom (UK).

The deceased started his career in 1986 as a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Late Izuwah also held several senior oil and gas asset management positions in a career spanning over 21 years with Shell Nigeria.

Izuwah was also a Harvard, Wharton, Columbia University, and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad Executive Education alumni.
