CRFFN Collects Practitioner’s Fees Not Cargo Levy – Jukwe

CRFFN Collects Practitioner’s Fees Not Cargo Levy – Jukwe
Sir, Mike Jukwe

The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has explained that it is empowered by the enabling Act to collect practitioners Operating Fees, which is the professional fees paid by practitioners and not “cargo levy”

Reacting to a publication recently by MMS Plus Weekly titled: Transport Minister Consents To CRFFN Cargo Levy”, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CRFFN, Sir Mike Jukwe said that the headline was misleading.

According to him, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), freight forwarding associations and maritime stakeholders had never faulted the collection of practicing fees with the argument that it would increase the cost of doing business in the ports, wondering how the collection of N10 billion was summed up.
