Bello-Koko Defeats Ex-Govs,Gets Appointed By Buhari As MD, NPA
President Mohammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Bello- Koko as the substantive Managing Director for the Nigerian Ports Authority(NPA).
This was confirmed in a press statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations in the Federal Ministry of Transportation,Mr.Eric Ojiekwe.
The appointment which takes immediate effect, has long been expected by the maritime stakeholders, most of whom had stated that Bello-Koko was better given a substantive appointment to succeed the immediate past Managing Director, Ms Hadiza Bala-Usman, who was relieved of her position unceremoniously.
Prior to this appointment, Mr.Bello- Koko was the Executive Director, Finance & Administration of the Authority and had been on acting capacity for ten months, raising fears that he might lose the chances of being appointed to lobbyists who included former governors..
Bello-Koko had unveiled his continuity agenda in NPA to include leveraging on technology to deliver the best port services to consumers.
