It is still incomprehensible that the fire incident that engulfed properties and a wing of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) building has not attracted any form of official statement from the corporate strategy and communications department four days after the incident. A four-paragraph statement of acknowledgement and a promise to investigate and ascertain the extent and cost of damage is all that is needed. It bleeds the heart that an unfortunate development of this kind greets reformers of the MD’s standing. She came with a mission for change and has been flying this flag of honour with determination. Like Robert Frost, she knows she has miles to cover before she sleeps. However, these human-induced landmines are needless. There can’t be a meaningful change without team work. A hard knock is applicable here.
