Despite repeated calls by maritime industry stakeholders to stop the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy from mobilizing agencies and Nigerians to contest for Category C position in the International Maritime Organisation(IMO) Council election, the Minister, Adegboyega Oyetola has continued to urge them on. Nigeria has never been disadvantaged like it is now to vie for her usual Category “C” position which has eluded her for years now. It is even more disgusting to say the least considering that NIMASA has compromised the Cabotage Vessel Finance Fund(CVFF) for IMO Council GODOT election. It is a wind-chasing exercise bound to dig holes in the purse of the nation. What is the budget for this mission? What is the source of funds?
