BEARS: Speed Zero
Amid the traffic challenges at the Apapa port, truckers have expressed worry that the government regulatory agencies have been more concerned about the lack of speed limiters in their trucks. Angered by this development, the Chairman of the Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) Chief Remi Ogungbemi, asked whether trucks that aren’t in motion as a result of the traffic congestion in Apapa, need speed limiters. “Which other speed limiter do we need for vehicles that are on speed zero?” the trucking don asked rhetorically while he addressed freight forwarders at the headquarters of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), last week.
