BEARS: Customs ‘N2Trillion Terror’
Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has revealed its revenue target for 2020 to be N2trillion. It is N700million higher than it collected in 2019. Ordinarily, this should mean that the Customs would tighten all loose ends in the bid top generate more but this has also sent shivers down the bones of freight agents in the country.
According to the Founder of the National Associati8on of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, this means that “the Customs is going to do things differently and this calls for concern. People must try as much as possible to be honest in whatever they do as it concerns trade. If you don’t do that, you will have yourself to be blamed”
Customs N2trillion 2020 revenue target has become a terror for freight forwarders, especially the dubious ones.
