BEARS: Allow Me 'Drink my Drink'
At the MMS Business Roundtable last week, the Customs representative stressed that health concerns was one of the factors behind the proposed re-introduction of excise duty collection on non-alcoholic drinks.
This position, though thoughtful and altruistic, didn’t sway a section of the audience at the event.
In fact, one of the participants posited that Nigerians should be allowed to enjoy themselves and drink their soft drinks, while the government focuses on getting the health care system functioning properly to address those with diabetes.
