Agency pledges to improve air safety
Accident Investigation Bureau Nigeria has restated its efforts towards enhancing aviation safety in Africa and beyond through quality investigations of air mishaps.
The statement was made on Monday by the Commissioner of the Bureau, Engr. Akin Olateru, who was represented by the Director of Engineering AIB, Muhammad Wali, at the end of a week-long workshop in Abuja.
According to a statement signed by the General Manager, Public Affairs, AIB, Tunji Oketunbi, AIB would continue to work in partnership with relevant agencies and stakeholders in the aviation industry to secure the airspace in the African sub-region and beyond.
He said, “AIB, in partnership with industry stakeholders, will always play a critical role in promoting aviation safety through quality investigations and timely publication of reports.”
He stressed the Bureau’s resolve to continue to align with the current trends of enhancing aviation safety through improved technology, training and retraining of the personnel while contributing meaningfully to the achievement of its mandate.
Also speaking, the BAGAIA Commissioner, Charles Erhueh, appreciated the AIB management, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and the AU for their support and cooperation towards the successful completion of the workshop.
