ABER Appoints, Hajiya Medina Dauda Nadabo, As Communication & Public Affairs Director

The Africa Blue Economy Roundtable (ABER) has appointed veteran journalist, Hajiya Medina Dauda Nadabo, as substantive Director of Communication & Public Affairs of its Continental Executive Council (CEC), with immediate effect.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter with reference number ABER/CEC/APP/001/2026 dated 2nd October, 2026, signed by the Convener/Founder of ABER and Chairman of BRACED Tourism Promotion and Development Initiative (BTPDI), Dr. Piriye Kiyaramo.
Hajiya Nadabo is a highly respected international broadcast journalist with over four decades of distinguished service in journalism and public communication. She currently serves as Bureau Coordinator and Programme Officer for the Voice of America (VOA) Nigeria, a position she has held with distinction since 1998 across the English and Hausa Services.
According to Dr. Kiyaramo, Hajiya Nadabo’s credibility, global exposure and vast media network will be invaluable in advancing ABER’s mandate for an inclusive and gender-responsive Blue Economy in Africa.
“Hajiya Medina’s appointment comes at a time when women’s voices remain underrepresented in maritime, fisheries and ocean governance. Her expertise will help amplify the voices of women in fisheries, aquaculture and maritime enterprise, bridge policy and grassroots realities, and strengthen partnerships with government, diplomatic and development stakeholders,” he stated.
In her new role, Hajiya Nadabo will lead ABER’s communication strategy and brand identity, serve as official spokesperson, manage national, regional and international media and digital platforms, and coordinate all publicity and stakeholder engagement for ABER programmes and roundtables.
ABER is a Pan-African platform dedicated to promoting sustainable Blue Economy development, inclusive growth and coastal community resilience across the continent.
