According to COFFHA, the event represents two significant milestones in the organisation’s humanitarian journey: the launch of a ₦300 million fundraising campaign for its Skills Acquisition Centre and the formal investiture of Mrs. Igbokwe as president.
In a statement titled “Build the Future, Today”, made available to MMS Plus, the organisation described the investiture as a landmark moment.
“COFFHA is delighted to announce that on Sunday, June 14, 2026, Mrs. Augustina Igbokwe will be formally invested as the new President of the Committee of Friends for Humanity. This investiture marks a proud and historic milestone for the organisation, and COFFHA looks forward to the fresh vision, energy and dedication she brings to this esteemed role,” the statement read.
The organisation noted that Mrs. Igbokwe’s emergence reflects its commitment to purposeful and compassionate leadership.
“Her wealth of experience and deep passion for humanitarian service position her exceptionally well to guide the organisation into its next phase of growth and impact,” it added.
On the fundraising initiative, COFFHA said the campaign seeks to mobilise support for the completion and full equipping of its Skills Acquisition Centre, designed to provide vocational training and economic empowerment opportunities for youths, women and underserved members of society.
Speaking on the project, Mrs. Igbokwe called on individuals, corporate organisations, philanthropists, faith-based institutions and other stakeholders to support the campaign and help raise the targeted ₦300 million.
“Once fully operational, the Centre will equip beneficiaries with marketable skills, foster self-reliance and create pathways out of poverty for countless families. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is a direct investment in the lives of people who need it most. When communities come together, transformation follows,” she said.
She encouraged interested donors and partners to obtain donation details and further information about the investiture and fundraising campaign through COFFHA’s official channels.www.coffha.org
