APFFLON Provides Free Medical Care For Nigerian Freight Forwarders
Some Freight Forwarding practitioners benefiting from the free medical outreach organized by APFFLON in Lagos, yesterday.

As part of activities to mark its 2021 end of year celebrations, African Association of Professional Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (APFFLON) organized a free Health Medical Check-up for freight forwarders at the Murtala Muhammed Airport command, yesterday.

The medical check-up focused on High Blood Pressure, sugar level checks, Free Drug for special cases, Free Medical Consultation and Health tips for healthy living.

According to the National President of APFFLON, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, the medical outreach was open to members and non-members of the freight forwarding body.

The group had set-up a 10-member committee for the task and it commenced action today on the organizing “End of the year party & Free Health Medical Checks ” for members and non members from about 10am Wednesday at the host venue, Freight Forwarders Secretariat, Hajji Camp, MMIA, Ikeja Lagos .

According to the organizers, the purpose of the event is to check members’ health status and the medical check was flagged-off by Fwdr. Akorede Shotayo as the Chairman, MMA Chapter who also led the way as the first member to be checked before other members followed suit.

APFFLON medical check attracted more than 150 members yesterday and they were excited to benefit from such gesture for a better health living, having an understanding that health is wealth .

During the medical check, some of the APFFLON members who benefited from the free health checks, unexpectedly discovered that their Blood Pressure (BP) was as high as 189/126mg and likewise indicated very high random blood sugar results.

Subsequently, those members found with abnormal results were quickly offered free drugs and medical consultation to make a better improvement on their health challenges after checks.

Mr. Joshua Gbenga Aderiola, Co-ordinator, APFFLON Health Plus also delivered a free health talk with the focus on Hypetite B, Diabetes and Stroke, among others.

The event was well attended by many members of the association as well as non-members as the gesture was extremely appreciated by majority of the participants that received treatment, medical counsel and free drugs.
