MTS Lagos Reiterates Commitment To Seafarers' Welfare

As the Mission to Seafarers (MTS) Lagos celebrated Sea Sunday Thanksgiving Service yesterday, the Provost of the Cathedral The Very Revd. Adebola Ojofeitimi encouraged maritime stakeholders to continue the Good Will towards seafarers.

According to him, acts of visitation, donation and other charitable activities towards seafarers by industry stakeholders epitomizes the goodilness and kindness from God.

The Provost said, “As we get involved in the welfare of seafarers around the world, what we are doing is showing hospitality. I congratulate the MTS Lagos as well as those across the globe. This is the will of God across all religions that men show hospitality to friends as well as strangers”

He stressed that seafarers around the globe are going through untold stress and hardships, positing that any support would go a long way to alleviate their burden.

Ojofeitimi also prayed for all seafarers across the globe during the service which was streamed on YouTube and Zoom with top Nigerian maritime experts in attendance online and onsite.

The Chairman of the Committee to reposition Nigeria’s Ship Registry, Engr. Emmanuel Ilori also prayed for God’s blessings upon the ports of Lagos as well as those in other parts of the country.

He also sought God’s grace and mercy for those onboard vessels in various parts of the globe as well as those at the shores.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Management Committee for MTS Lagos, Chief Adebayo Sarumi assured that the Committee is fitted out for the great assignment for MTS Lagos.

He equally appealed to parishioners not to become weary as they go about the good work that MTS Lagos is set out to achieve.
