Supreme Court Ruling: APC Accepts Umo Eno

The All Progressive Congress Party, APC, Akwa Ibom State, has accepted the ruling of the Supreme Court over it petition and accordingly, recognizes Pastor Umo Eno, as the governor of Akwa Ibom State.
The gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Obong Akan Udofia, in a press release, described the Supreme Court’s decision as “an integral part of our democratic system we must respect”, and accordingly congratulated the governor.
“In the interest of our dear state, I wish to congratulate our Governor , Pastor Umo Eno for his success at the Supreme Court and wish him the very best in his quest to govern our state. I therefore call on all well-meaning Akwa Ibomites to join hands with him in the development of our dear state”, Obong Akan Udofia stated.
After all the anxiety, the Supreme Courtp finally affirmed Pastor Umo Eno as the de jure Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
All contenders for the governorship of Akwa Ibom State have come to terms that Governor Umo Eno is in charge legally and with popular affirmation by the people of Akwa Ibom State.
The Supreme Court in its ruling, dismissed petitions filed by Obong Akan Udofia of the APC, John Akpanudoedehe of the New Nigeria People’s Party ( NNPP), and Senator Bassey Albert Akpan of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) who all contended the March 18, 2023 election.
Governor Umo Eno’s victory will no doubt, bring a change in the dynamics of governance in the state under the Golden era of ARISE Agenda with high expectations of lasting peace.
Within the seven months of holding sway as the governor, Governor Umo Eno’s developmental strides in projects inauguration and execution are pointers to a people oriented administration.
On the economic development model of the state as captured in the ARISE Agenda, Pastor Eno is set to address among other macroeconomic areas as agriculture, rural development, tourism and rapid industrial development and as well, broaden opportunities to fast track development and bring prosperity to the doorsteps of Akwa Ibomites.
In reaction to his victory at the Supreme Court, Governor Imo Eno thanked the Nigerian Judiciary for the great and enduring work it has done to deepen and protect our democracy, noting that, “the judiciary indeed remains the last hope of the common man. We will continue to have our hope and trust in them”
Governor Umo Eno used the opportunity to invite other aspirants to join him to build the state,
“Once again, I call on our brothers who aspired to lead this great State with me, to come and join hands with me to continue the task of building this State and help bring more developments across sectors” .
