Nigerian Chamber of Shipping Gets New DG The long awaited restructuring process at the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping (NCS) has finally come to an end, with Mr. Bukola Lawal has emerging as the Acting Director General while an articulate governing council has also been created.
The new management structure was created to build upon the confidence of members in the Chamber and to move it forward.
The Acting Director General, Bukola Lawal has stated that the new administration is prepared to strive towards ensuring that the Chamber responds to the demand and aspiration of its members as well as the emerging challenges of the maritime and shipping enterprises.
He said that, “under this dispensation, the Chamber will focus on advocacy, advisory and maritime consulting, training and capacity building, legal support and arbitration, research and publication, as well as enlightenment programmes.
“We equally take into cognizance membership expansion to accommodate not only the professionals, but also the Operators and Organized Private Sector who are established within the Shipping Trade while our utmost goal remains to protect the interest of our amiable members. The Chamber is repositioned to serve its purposes and can be reached to achieve your corporate goals”
The new Chamber is also poised to enjoy collaboration and cooperation from a number of overseas interests, through these cooperative and collaborative arrangements, excellent services on a worldwide basis shall be offered with well-equipped crop of highly skilled, dedicated, and experienced professionals.
According to Bukola Lawal, these services have been designed to benefit our members, the stakeholders (Public and Private Sectors) with a view of developing the Nation’s economy.
“The Strategic Approach to implement the Action Plan towards achieving the new vision of the Chamber as the Authoritative and Ethical voice within the Nigerian Maritime Domain and Economy will be deployed starting from the beginning of the last Quarter, 2016. You are hereby invited to join the moving train” he added.
