NAGAFF Commends SON On PAM InitiativeThe National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has commended Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) on the proposed introduction of the Product Authentication Mark (PAM).

This was contained in a letter of commendation sent to the SON’s Director General and made available to MMS Plus Newspaper by NAGAFF’s legal Adviser, Barr. Fred Akokhia.

The association appreciated the entire SON management for the policy which is SON’S initiative to “knock-out” sub-standard products from the Nigerian market.

“This your proactive and novelle initiative we believe will in no small measure ensure that the Nigerian market for both locally manufactured and imported goods conform to standards that will go a long way to safeguard the lives and properties of the people of this country.” It read in part

NAGAFF also commend SON for the gestation period given before the initiative kicks off and called on all concerned to adjust to the initiative of best practices even as it implored SON to carry out a lot of sensitization to Nigerians especially the importers, manufacturers and end users of these products so that they will be aware of the innovation during the grace period.

“We believe that with the sustainability of this initiative you would have taken a giant step to as you put it knock-out substandard products from our markets. Once again we congratulate you and your management for this brilliant idea.  Nigeria must work and sub-standard and fake products must be completely wiped out from our country.

“This letter is being endorsed to the Hon. Minister of Trade, Industries and Investment in appreciation of his leadership and concerns for a greater Nigeria of our dreams. Kindly accept the assurances of our continued partnership with your organization in your quest to make Nigeria a better place.” It stated
