FAAN MD, Airline Operators Meet To Improve Service At Airports

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), met with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and the Airline Operating Committee (AOC) to find solutions to service gaps at airports across the country.

The new Managing Director of FAAN, Capt Rabiu Yadudu, said the meeting became necessary to re-affirm the agency’s commitment to the improvement of services at airports, and to solicit airline operators’ cooperation and support.

“FAAN is already taking bold steps in addressing gaps in our processes and procedures by collaborating with the International Civil Aviation Organization, through its Airport Service Quality programme,” he said.

Yadudu requested the airline associations to nominate two members to work in a committee that would be constituted immediately alongside FAAN officials to drive the delivery of improved services at airports.

According to him, the AON and the AOC are primary stakeholders which informed engaging them first among numerous others.

He stated that the new management would be open to advice and constructive criticisms, and concentrate on delivering structured, time-bound, sustainable and improved services to all stakeholders.

The Chairman of AON, Capt, Nogie Meggison, congratulated the new MD on his appointment adding that airline operators would cooperate with the agency towards delivering improved services at the airports and helping to develop the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos into a hub.

Yadudu also pledged the support and cooperation of airline operators towards delivering improved services at the airports.

Present at the meeting were the Authority’s directors of Engineering Services, Engr. Salisu Daura, Finance & Accounts, Mrs. Nike Aboderin, Human Resources, Mr. Honorius Anozie, Security Services, Rtd Group Captain U.S.A. Sadiq, Airport Operations, Mrs. Jumoke Oni, Legal Adviser, Dr. Clifford Omozeghian.

Also in attendance we’re the Chairman Medview Airline, Alhaji M. A. Bankole, Chairman Air Peace Airline, Mr. Allen Onyema, Chairman Overland Air, Capt Edward Boyo, Station Manager, British Airways, Mrs. Adetoun Odejinmi, amongst several others.
