The Association of Nigeria Customs Licensed Agents (ANLCA) has shut down its national secretariat until further notice as part of efforts to protect members of the association from the pandemic ‘Coronavirus’.
The President of ANLCA, Hon. Tony Iju Nwabunike revealed this earlier today, even as he urged members of association as well as other maritime stakeholders to stay at home and adhere to health safety tips which include frequent washing of hands and maintaining social distance.
“We are in perilous times. Humanity is faced with its worst crisis since World War II. Covid-19 is not only ravaging our communities as we know it, but also destroying the world economy,” Nwabunike reechoed Angela Merkel, German Chancellor’s words on the virus.
Nwabunike’s message conveyed in a letter to ANLCA members read; “Your National President and entire NECOM members do care about you and your entire family members. All our professional colleagues are very important and dear to us. Let’s show love to ourselves by staying safe and coming out victorious”
“Consequently, the National Secretariat will be shut down by 12noon until further notice. Please, stay at home with your families. Avoid gatherings of any sort. It is my prayers that the Almighty Father will spare us and the lives of our family members. Wishing everyone the best possible luck.”
The letter also noted the good news that Covid-19 is not temperature resistant and advocated drinking of very warm water as well as taking suana warm water bath twice daily.
“Warm water bath has been identified as a fighting tool to fight infection. The ancient method of taking care of malaria, fever and flu by inhaling steam from boiled water while ones head is covered with quilt or blanket for 15 minutes until one sweats has equally been identified as necessary therapy that may keep Covid-19 away,” it read.
