CILT Nigeria Inaugurates Three Steering Committees

The President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, (CILT), Nigeria, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibril, FCILT over the weekend inaugurated chairmen and members of three crucial committees at the Institute.

The three standing Committees of the Institute inaugurated by the President are; Professional Development Committee, Public Relations Business & Strategic Committee and Account & Finance Committee.

During the inauguration of the committees at the Institute’s National Secretariat in Lagos, Jibril charged the chairmen and members of the various committees to perform credibly in order to further enhance the status of the Institute.

Jibril who also holds the traditional title of Magayakin Zazzau Emirate, said that the appointment of the Committee members was done in line with their routine contributions to the growth of the Institute’s over the years and in addition to their proven integrity.

The Professional Development Committee (PDC) is to be chaired by Professor Adesoji Adesanya, a Fellow of the Institute, Mr. Remi Ajiboye, a Chartered member as the Vice Chairman, Mr. Abdulrahman Ajala a member of the Institute as a member of the Committee, Mr. Adepoju Powokan, a Chartered member of the Institute is also a member and Mr. Paul Ndibe, a Fellow of the Institute and Acting Executive Director of CILT Nigeria as its Secretary.

The terms of reference of the committee include: setting professional examinations for members and potential members, marking scripts, screening members’ academic records for upgrade or at the point of entrance, among others.

However, the Public Relations & Business Strategic Committee is chaired by Mr. Babayo Adamu, a Fellow of the Institute, Mr. Alaga Anibola, a Chartered Member of the Institute is the Vice Chairman, Mr. Bashir Ambi Mohammed, a Chartered Member of the Institute is a member of the committee, another member is Mr. Aroge Rotimi, a Member of the Institute and Mr. Paul Ndibe, a Fellow of the Institute and Acting National Executive Director of CILT Nigeria as the committee Secretary.

Mr. Jibril further stated that the PR & BS Committee has its terms of reference as follows; development of strategic cooperative relationships with the Institute’s  Corporate Members or other organization for a win-win outcome in consonance with the National Secretariat, review of business plans for the Institute’s programmes, offering the best ways of actualizing them, assist in developing a wide network of public awareness campaign for the Institute, assisting the national secretariat in structuring profitable programmes including trainings and workshops,  helping to attract offers for implant training programmes of identified organization and the sustenance of the profitability of the programmes, Assisting in the packaging of attractive Institute programmes for sponsorship by  corporate organizations especially the Institute’s corporate members, and  to assist in developing a link for attracting back lapsed Corporate and individual Members towards a more robust Membership growth.

The third committee, Account and Finance Committee, is chaired by Mr. Benjamin Ihumbe, a Fellow of the Institute, he is to be assisted by Mr. Ezre Daku, a Chartered Member of the Institute, other members are Mr. Hakeem Ajibola, a Chartered Member and Mr. Paul Ndibe, a fellow of the Institute and Acting National Executive Director of CILT Nigeria as its Secretary.

Responding on behalf of the Committees, Prof. Adesanya thanked the President and Council Members of the Institute for the confidence bestowed on the committees and assured them that the Committees will not fail in achieving the desired results.
