BULLS: Spirit of Obi Cubana In NAGAFF
The Nigerian maritime media is arguably the most active in Africa if not in the world but the least in terms of appreciation. They live and operate in the midst of plenty yet walk and work like paupers in their hundreds. Many of them are victims of use and dump. They need encouragement that can spur courage and inspire professionalism. All this, ignited the fire of change in Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, the founder of NAGAFF to institute an award of the Most Courageous Journalist in the industry. Mr.Kingsley Anaroke of MMS Plus Newspaper won the maiden edition of the award in the estimation of the judges. It came with a prize but Aniebonam chose to dramatize the award with the spraying of mint notes on Anaroke at a function last week. What a Cubanaious spirit manifested in NAGAFFious temperament!
Agencies and NGOs in the sector should explore this as a good brand management strategy to reduce the brand building blindness in the industry. I often wonder what the industry image- makers are communicating!
