The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited on Tuesday said it had enough Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, despite the queues seen in Abuja and environs.

It specifically stated that it had increased its PMS stock by over two billion litres and urged motorists to desist from panic buying, in apparent reaction to the queues seen in some filling stations on Monday and Tuesday.

NNPC spokesperson, Garba-Deen Muhammad, said in a statement, “The NNPC is once again giving Nigerians strong assurance that we have product sufficiency that will last far beyond the festive period.

“Indeed, our stock has risen from a reserve of 1.7 billion litres to over two billion litres within the last one month.”

He added, “Thus, we once again urge Nigerians not to engage in panic buying but to fully enjoy the spirit of the festive season as we continue to work tirelessly to ensure sufficient supply of petrol to every part of the country.”

The oil firm extended its appreciations to all Nigerians for their understanding and support and encouraged PMS users to always heed NNPC advisories not to engage in panic buying of petrol.
