NPA Gets New Secretariat At Kano Trade Fair

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has been given a new permanent office as secretariat at the Kano State Trade Fair Complex to promote port business around the region.

The President of Kano State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture Mallam Umar Farouk Rabiu revealed this when he led the Kano Chamber of Commerce to the NPA headquarters yesterday.

He added that it was as a mark of respect for the continuous presence of NPA at all its past trade fair, that the Chamber decided to provide a permanent office for the Organization at its secretariat to promote ports business.

Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Mallam Habib Abdullahi has also stated  that at least one officer of the Authority will be posted to the office which the Kano State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture recently provided to NPA.

While receiving the delegation from the Kano State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mallam Abdullahi commended the strategic role the indigenes of Kano state have played in concessioned ports industry as represented by Alhaji Aliko Dangote the Chairman of Greenview Development Nigerian Limited (GDNL) and Alhaji Samad Rabiu of BUA Industries Limited.

However, Abdullahi added that a formal proposal should be forwarded to his office concerning the request for NPA to have a permanent pavilion at the Kano State Trade Fair complex. He also assured the delegation that NPA will maintain a continuous participation in the yearly Trade Fair in Kano, as it has done since the inception of the Trade Fair.

Earlier in his address, the President of Kano State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture Mallam Umar Farouk Rabiu (Dansuleka) had requested that NPA build a permanent Pavilion at the Kano State Trade Fair ground.

Mallam Rabiu also promised to continue to promote NPA and the maritime industry even as he affirmed that he was honoured to be visiting for the second time this year and commended the Managing Director and his Management of NPA for doing an outstanding job in the ports.
