CILT  Plans Two Days Conference On Logistics Innovation

The chartered Institute of logistics and Transportation(CILT) Nigeria is organizing a two- day programme in Nigeria. This is to enable them proffer solutions for effective national logistics, transportation and Innovation.

It is also to encourage multidisciplinary networks and provide platforms for academics as well as professionals to identify and examine the challenges.

The programme is scheduled for 11th and 12th of November ,2022. At Oriental Hotel,  Victoria Island Lagos.

Prof.Kayode  Oyesiku , Chairman of the event’s planning committee, disclosed this during a press conference recently in Lagos. He also said that the programme wouldl feature experts ,business leaders, professionals and the academia from round the globe.

He said the three day event with the theme: Sustainable Innovation in Global  Logistics and Transport,will also feature exhibitions of transportation and logistics products from cognate industries and sectors, while availing an opportunity for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for industry stakeholders and providing an excellent platform for networking.

Prof.Oyesiku noted that “The importance of logistics to the socio economic development  of nations cannot be  overemphasized. The Logistics Performance Index (LPI) of nations is now the yardstick for measuring their economic resilience and competitiveness. Where ever the LPIs are weak ,the economy is vulnerable and susceptible to uncertainty and high business risk” he said.

He revealed that the two day  Summit will witness participants from around  the world  engage in  critical discussions aimed at bringing fresh innovations and ideas targeted at transforming the logistics and transport hub of the country and state.  President of CILT International, Mr. Paul Sainthouse, is among the top guests expected to grace the summit.

“The conference will comprise various technical sessions where subject-matter of expertise will lead conversations primarily aimed at interrogating the future of logistics and transport operations in Nigeria, especially within the context of a rapidly changing service environment, technological innovations and extensive planning dynamics that characterize logistics, transport and supply chain at the present time” he said.

Prof. Oyesiku said that as part of the conference, the National Council has programmed a Technical Guided Tour that is of interest to national transport development for outdoor tutelage and learning of the participants.
