Hassan Bello, Dakuku, Others Set For 2017 Ports Efficiency Conference

Land and Sea International is set to hold the 2017 national conference on ports efficiency  with the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Mr. Hassan Bello, the Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA),  Dr. Dakuku Peterside, among other maritime bigwigs to grace the occasion as keynote speakers and participants.

This year’s event with the theme: “Promoting Port Efficiency And Logistics” would come up on 25th and 26th October, 2017 at Rockview Hotels, Apapa by 10am daily.

This information was contained in a statement made available to MMS Plus by Land and Sea Public Relations Officer (PRO), Udoyibo Chiamaka yesterday.

According to the PRO, “the conference would highlight the problems affecting the efficiency of Nigerian ports and the three main maritime transport agencies; NIMASA, NSC and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) would participate fully”.

He further stated that the conference would examine the following objectives: identification of operational and technical challenges of ports and logistics; highlighting challenges and procedures of shipping and logistics documentations with customs and other security agencies in the port; development of quality assurance framework for international transport system in our ports with reference to Apapa, Tin Can, Onne, Port Harcourt, Delta and Calabar ports respectively and so many others.

Other facilitators expected at the conference include: Dr. Babatunde Samuel, Register/Secretary of Port & Terminal Management Academy of Nigeria; Mr. C.O Alabi, former General Manager, Health & Safety NPA, Headquarters; Prof. Odewumi S.G, Dean School of Transport, Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos; Barr. Boye  Uzamot, FCIS, FPTM, Company’s Secretary/Legal Adviser ENL Consortium Limited, Apapa; Dr. Chris Amadi; Dr. Tunji Obagbo; Mazi Okafor.
