CAC ends manual company registration in five states, FCT
The Corporate Affairs Commission on Monday announced the closure of the manual process for company registration in five states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The announcement was made by the Registrar-General, CAC, Mr. Bello Mahmud, during a media briefing held at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Mahmud, who gave the states as Enugu, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Rivers and the FCT, said the move was part of efforts to improve the business environment and make Nigeria an easier place for businesses to thrive.
He said the implication of the closure of the manual process was that the commission had now phased out the physical submission of new applications for registration.
As a replacement, he said a company registration portal had been created where those seeking to register their companies could upload their applications.
He said, “The commission has phased out physical submission of new applications for registration in the six state offices in Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Enugu and Port Harcourt, with effect from May 15.
“Consequently, customers processing new registration in these locations shall directly complete the application forms and other relevant information and pay registration fee as well as Stamp Duty where applicable on the company registration portal and thereafter upload all necessary documents through the commission’s upload interface after due execution.
