ACG Edike Applauds Zone ‘A’ CACs For August 2016 Revenue Collected
The Zonal Coordinator of Customs Zone ‘A’ (South West), ACG Eporwei Charles Edike has commended the Customs Area Controllers in his Zone for their August 2016 Revenue performance during the Zonal meeting that took place last week.
He applauded all the Area Controllers, Comptrollers and Unit Heads for their resilience and dedication to duty and appreciated their efforts in revenue generation and national security particularly, the month of August 2016 as the Area Controllers almost met their Commands’ monthly targets in the month under review.
According to the ACG all these efforts and achievements of Zone ‘A’ can be attributed to the astute leadership of the Comptroller General of Customs Col Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) and his three point agenda to restructure, reform and improved revenue.
The Zonal Coordinator has keyed into CGC’s agenda and decided to pay regular official visits and unofficial visits to the Commands under his watch to monitor and assessed their activities. With his wealth of experience he acquired as CAC PTML, CAC PCA Zone A, Comptroller Joint task Force (Customs, EFCC and ICPC), CAC Murtala International Airport, CAC TCIP and CAC Apapa Command and made a remarkable record in terms of Revenue and National security.
ACG Edike’s advice and professional experiences set up a committee to produce an effective strategy (work Plan) for the Zone. He aslo directed the CACs to fully implement the work plan which led the Zone to achieved 97.86 % of its monthly target for August 2016.
Edike specially commended and appreciated the Controller Ondo/ Ekiti Command, Comptroller Machu, F.T, Controller Murtala Mohamed International Airport Command, Comptroller Allanah, F.N and Controller Apapa Command, Comptroller Egbudin, W.A for exceeding their command monthly revenue target for August 2016.
He also commended the Controllers of Federal Operations Unit, Western Marine Area Command, Ogun Area Command and Seme Area Command, Compt. Umar, M. D, Compt. Umar, Y., Compt. Multafu, W. J and Compt. Dimka, V.D. respectively for waging effective war against smuggling in the Zone.
The Zonal Coordinator concluded the meeting by advising them to be creative within the Customs laws and Circulars; Creativity makes the difference and it will stand them out by meeting their goals.
