NKEIRU NWALA

Nwala Nkeiruka Ijeoma is a passionate, focused, goal-oriented, and selfless lady.

She is currently the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Zone A Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) having earlier worked as the PRO, Apapa Area 1 Customs Command and at Oyo/Ogun Area Command.

 A Bachelor of Education in Political Science graduate of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with a Master’s Degree in Education Psychology from Imo State University, Nkiruka is on a march for a Ph.D in Psychology at the Lagos State University (LASU). She has also earned a Diploma in Public Relations, with several other courses in the image- making field.

 She is a recipient of many awards and recognitions, including the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC’s) Merit Award on Public Relations in 2012.  Nkeiruka has been one of the capacity building volunteers in the WILCEP programme of the MMS WoFHoF Initiative.

Nkeiru has a heart of gold. God has used her to give hope to many hopeless homes, build churches and touch businesses.

Mrs Gloria Kanabe is a seasoned maritime / logistics practitioner and consultant, active for over 23 years in the international shipping and maritime industry. She is currently the Managing Partner for Hudson Gee Nigeria Ltd (maritime consultants).

She holds a Diploma in Business Management from LSC Business College, UK, as well as a Degree in Law from the University of Lagos. She is also a practicing lawyer, having been called to the bar in 2004 and a certified Arbitrator. She is a staunch researcher and has also attended trainings and seminars in the UK, Denmark, Belgium and South Africa.

She is a role model for many women in the industry, championing women empowerment through organizations like WIMA (Women in Maritime Africa) and WISTA (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association) where she has been an active member for many years and has served on many committees. She is also a member of several notable institutions which include, the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (NCIArb), Standing Conference of Mediation Advocates (SCMA, UK).

 She started her maritime career in 1988 when she joined Maersk Nigeria Limited as an Asst. Manager – Customer Service before being transferred to the legal department. Her exceptional performance and integrity in this and other subsequent roles saw her rise to various senior roles which culminated to her promotion in 2008 to Claims and Legal Manager in charge of Nigeria, Benin and Togo cluster countries within the A.P.Moller Maersk Group, a position she held for 20years, before leaving Maersk Nigeria Limited as a celebrated employee.

 Her job roles exposed her to a wide range of challenges within the sector and in handling these challenges she also gained fame in and outside the A. P. Moller Maersk Group.

 She currently consults for Maersk Nigeria Ltd as an external consultant as well as consults and trains for other clientele including, Nigeria Customs Service(NCS), Lilypond Container Terminal, DENCA Services Limited, NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration), COMET shipping, CMA CGM Nigeria Shipping Limited, MSC Nigeria Limited, EMEKA AKABOGU & CO, EMAKEN Nigeria Ltd, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Grimaldi Lines, LANSAL Shipping, Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria, Dunalin Nigeria Limited.

 Mrs Kanabe is a resourceful personality with a heart to impact her environment in a sustainable fashion. She is committed to building the capacity of younger generation of business professionals and has demonstrated humanitarianism to many people in need.

 

Oluchi Okafor

OLUCHI OKAFOR

Mrs. Oluchi Okafor has a B.Sc. in Mass Communications from the prestigious Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria. She later obtained a Masters in Business Administration (Supply Chain) from the Malaysia University of Science and Technology.

She has worked in print, electronic and digital media as well as in the FMCG and Telecommunication sectors in different roles and capacities ranging from Sales, Customer service, Branding, and Corporate Communication. She began her career in Guinness Nigeria PLC and culminated her decade-long corporate career at Airtel Networks Nigeria, recording multiple promotions and accolades during her time there.

Oluchi was recently appointed Managing Director of Multimix Academy, Nigeria’s foremost Supply chain and Logistics training institute. Prior to this appointment, she served as General Manager since January 2019 and has contributed invaluably to the growth of the organisation ever since. She has led the journey and grown the company to becoming an ISO certified, tech-enabled training organisation and has also facilitated improved service delivery for clients and prospects alike. She is a Cherie Blair Foundation Mentee, and the only female Executive Council member of the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN)

She is a customer experience trainer and has trained over 100 SMEs on process improvement and customer service strategies. She is passionate about causes that concern the Girl child and has partnered with several NGOs to provide educational and material opportunities for vulnerable youth.

IFEOMA ILOAKANMA

Mrs. Ifeoma Jennifer Iloakanma is one of the few women with an unusual courage and confidence, especially in terms of managing responsibilities. Her resourcefulness and dedication to duty earned her a place as the Assistant General Manager, Kings Communications Limited and the Executive Secretary of MMS WOFHOF Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).

A graduate of Banking and Finance, she has 25 years experience in office administration and management. Goal-driven and a stickler for rules, her dynamism in human resources and material management has earned her a sobriquet, Margaret Thatcher, at different places that she has worked.

She has demonstrated integrity, ability to communicate and even market corporate ideas and policies since joining Kings Communications Group ten years ago.  Mrs. Iloh as simply called has since become one of the tripods in Kings Communications Group because of her commitment and contributions to the growth of the outfit.

 She is a graduate of Lagos State Polytechnic, where she earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking and Finance. Upon graduation, Ifeoma worked in the law firm of Chief Law Agu Ezetah & Co in administrative capacity to the Chief Executive Officer for four years. She later joined Wisdom Property Limited as the Administrative Officer.  Having seen her proactive steps in delivering quality outcomes in challenging circumstances, she was moved from her position as the Administrative Officer to head the Accounts Department. Her successful business development initiatives inspite of her position as the Head of Accounts yielded her promotion as the Business Development Manager (BDM).

In her quest for improvement to impact lives more meaningfully and improve the bottom line of her office, Ifeoma earned a Certificate in Advanced Programme on Corporate Sustainability from the University of Ibadan.

She is one of the MMS Micro Credit project initiators. The project was designed to help bridge the gap of the financial needs of small and micro women business owners. Today, the project in collaboration with Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN), MMS Hall of Fame mentors, Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, and other NGOs has increased the managerial and financial capacity of over 300 women.

 Happily married with three children, she is an ordained Mother in the Anglican Church communion, where she discharges humanitarian calling and developing other women.

 

ARIT ASUQUO NWOKEDI

ARIT NWOKEDI

Arit Asuquo Nwokedi is the Principal Manager in charge of Corporate and Strategic Communications (C&SC) of Lagos Port Complex (LPC) Apapa, Lagos.

She is a product of the University of Calabar, where she studied Political Science. Upon completing her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), she joined the services of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

Her quest for career advancement pushed her into taking a Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Transport Studies from the Nigerian Institute of Transport, Zaria. She would later obtain a Master’s Degree in Transport from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ondo State.

 Her professional postings and positioning provided her opportunity to attend diverse trainings on management, leadership and communications.

In addition to a score of recognitions to her credit, she is a member of some professional bodies which include, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).

Before her present office, she had occupied various other offices which include, Senior Personnel Officer; Assistant Manager, Public Affairs; and Manager, Public Affairs.

Arit is always goal-driven and can open closed doors with her personality. She often uses her office to spread the message of love and humanity.

Margaret Ogbonnah

MARGARET OGBONNAH

Mrs. Margaret Ogbonnah is a woman of steel. She is the Deputy Director, Market Analysis and Tariff Administration in the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC). She is one of the smart and intelligent female officers in NSC and the maritime industry. Margaret’s ability for performance delivery was discovered before she even got to the directorate level following commendations from some of the past chief executive officers.

She is the National Vice President (West) of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). She is a graduate of the University of Jos and got her Master’s Degree  on Port Management, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, which also earned her certification as Certified International Trade Logistics Specialist.

Margaret is a member of Women in Logistics and Transport (WILAT) and a full Member of International Multimodal Transport Association (IMMTA).

 She has a model home where she and her husband are not just friends but business and relationship partners. She runs a charity outfit in her heart with an over flow of show of love to mankind.

Onyeshielible Nwamaka

SHIELIBE NWAMAKA

Mrs. Onyeshielibe Nwamaka Abe hails from Aniocha-North LGA in Delta State.

She is currently an Assistant Director in the Public Relations Unit of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). Her sojourn in the maritime sector has seen her rise through the ranks from the defunct Joint Maritime Labour Industrial Council (JOMALIC), where she started as a Welfare Officer of the Maritime Labour Services Department.

From the Maritime Labour Services Department where she was employed in 2004, she was deployed to the Marine Environment Management Department in 2010 as a Principal Officer where she spent four (4) years. In 2014, she was then moved to the Training Unit of the Administration and Personnel Department where she spent six (6) years. Her last deployment saw her charting a new course in the Public Relations Unit of the Agency.

As a fresh graduate of the University of Lagos, the young ‘Shielibe was sent to serve in the Rivers State under the National Youth Service Corps programme. She served as the pioneer Call Centre Representative of Multichoice Nigeria Limited, Port Harcourt. Her excellent customer service skills, saw her being employed in 2000 as a front desk Customer Care Representative and subsequent promotions to Corporate Accounts and thereafter Distribution Manager up till 2004 when she left for the public sector.

She holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology, Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management and an MBA, all from the prestigious University of Lagos. A licensed HR practitioner and member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN), as well as the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration (CIOTA), she has constantly developed herself by participating in numerous relevant training programmes.

Engr. Sarat Lara Braimah

ENGR. SARAT LARA BRAIMAH

From her younger days, Engineer Sarat Braimah has always flown the blue flag and loves the water economy. She may not have an Olympic gold medal in swimming competition, but has her eyes set on conquering the Mechanical Engineering world, a dream which took her through the Federal University of Technology, Minna in Niger State, where she braced forth a degree in Engineering and Masters in Marine and Transport Management.

   Not satisfied in her quest for academic excellence in a field many people thought was reserved for men, Engineer Sarat capped her educational laurel with a Diploma in Marine Craft Survey from the International Institute of Marine Survey, United Kingdom.

   Engineer Sarat joined National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) in 2001 as a dotting engineering rookie and through dint of hard-work, self – discipline and determination to excel, grew through the ranks and became Head of Marine Department in 2007.

 While in this position her job profile included providing Marine Engineering architecture for the Lagos Area office, interfacing with boat operators and other marine stakeholders, supervision of extant marine regulations and writing briefs on marine activities, generating revenue profiles on marine and sundry activities in the area office and providing leadership.

  In September 2019 she was elevated to the position of Area Manager of Lagos Office by the management of NIWA based on hard-work, inspiring leadership and competence to deliver revenue mandate.

She is a member of the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN); Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA); Chartered Institute of Shipping; Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
