WIMAFRICA: Bola Muse Emerges President Of Nigerian Chapter

Hajia Bolanle Idayat Muse has been elected as the new President of the Nigerian chapter of African Women in Maritime (WIMAFRICA).
Bola Muse took over from Barr. (Mrs.) Jean-Chiazor Anishere who is now the Continental President of the Association, WIMAFRICA.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of WIMA-Nigeria, Mrs. Carol Ufere, Bola Muse emerged the President of WIMA-Nigeria after a peaceful contest while Mrs. Rollens Macfoy emerged Vice President.
Prior to her new status as President, Bola Muse was the Vice President of WIMA-Nigeria while Rollens was the Secretary of the Association.
Speaking to MMS Plus on her aspirations for the Association under her leadership, Hajia Bola Muse said she would ensure more Nigerian women participate in all aspects of the blue economy especially in policy formulation, advocacy, entrepreneurship development and capacity building.
She also assured that she would ensure continued mentoring of younger females in the maritime industry, noting that mentorship was sacrosanct if the Association hopes to have worthy successors and a sustainable future.
“Young members who are employed and in need of guidance or mentoring would have more opportunities under my leadership with the support of my executives and other members of the association” she told our correspondent.
She also stated that she would prioritize the place of training for WIMA-Nigeria members.
“Knowledge is power; therefore training of every member of WIMA-Nigeria would be one of our main objectives. We will ensure that the training of every member is regular and not restricted to the leadership but extended to all members to keep them abreast of happenings in the topical areas of the maritime industry” she added.
Hajia Bola Muse is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bomorah Group and a 2012 MMS Plus Woman of Fortune Hall of Famer (WOFHOF). Bola is also the Founder of Women in ANLCA, the female wing of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) and she is currently the Financial Secretary of ANLCA.
The executives of WIMA-Nigeria are: President, Hajia Bola Muse; Vice-President, Mrs. Rollens Macfoy; PRO, Mrs. Carol Ufere; Treasurer, Mrs. Affi Ibanga; Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Foluke Akimolade; Assistant PRO, Mrs. Justina Mamedu Ikpeekha.
