SIFAX Haulage Gets 20 New Trucks

As part of efforts to consolidate its position as a leader in Nigeria’s logistics industry, SIFAX Haulage and Logistics Limited, one of the subsidiaries of SIFAX Group, has acquired twenty brand new trucks.

The trucks are European trucks with 420 horse power rating. 10 of them are ‘6 by 4’ double axles while the others 10 are triaxle flatbeds with 48 tonnage capacity. The brand new trucks will complement the 55 trucks already in use by the company, thereby bringing the company’s fleet size to a total of 75 trucks.

While speaking at the formal commissioning of the trucks, Mr. Adewale Adetayo, General Manager, SIFAX Haulage and Logistics Limited, the company’s decision to expand its fleet is a statement of intent by SIFAX Group to deliver better services to its clients and become an undisputed leader in the industry.

Mr. Adewale stressed that the development couldn’t have come at a better time as the company faced some challenges in meeting the demands of its clients.

He said: “With this acquisition, our transfer and delivery processes will be sharpened. We can now favourably compete in the movement of deadweights. We are poised to change the haulage and logistics landscape in Nigeria with the expansion of our fleet. Our haulage team has been well prepared and equipped with various technical trainings to usher in the operations of these new trucks in addition to ones we have at hand.”

Addressing the drivers on the need to maintain the standards and ethics in the company, he said; “I urge all haulage drivers to use these vehicles strictly for the official purposes they were procured for. I must warn again, that for no reason should the vehicles be used for unofficial purposes, such as diversion, loading of unauthorized goods and persons, selling off AGO, batteries, tyres and other ancillary items”

He also revealed that in order to discourage arbitrary use of the vehicles for purposes other than the discharge of official duties, the vehicles were installed with video tracking devices to enable the company monitor their movements centrally from the office.

Earlier, the Group Managing Director, SIFAX Group, Mr. John Jenkins explained that with the commissioning of the new trucks, the company now lives up to the standard it is known for worldwide, noting that the company’s business acumen is geared towards constantly meeting customer needs and adding value to all its businesses.

“Today’s commissioning is in line with the company’s vision of making all its brands and businesses the frontliners in their respective sectors. We are committed to constantly strengthening the logistics value chain of the maritime sector of which haulage is an important value,” he said.

Jenkins further assured clients that with the acquisition and relevant capacity development programmes that the members of staff have undergone, the quality of service they will enjoy will be a lot better.
