The leadership of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the entire department of Environment at the agency has congratulated Dr. Felicia Chinwe Mogo on her retirement from public service and her industry based book on Marine Environment.

The Authority conveyed its appreciation via the Executive Director, Marine and Operations, Hon. Onari Brown, who was represented by Mrs. Khadijat Sheidu-Shabi at the event.

Dr. Mogo retired from the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) where she rose to the position of Director, Marine Environment Management.

During her 34 years of public service, Dr. Mogo served in various capacities in agencies, ministries and various international avenues contributing to the protection of Nigeria’s environment and giving the country recognition on the international level.

In a recent event to celebrate her exit from public service, Dr. Mogo launched an industry book titled: “Regulating the Marine Environment of Africa for Sustainable Blue Economy – the Nigerian Scenario.”

The ex-NIMASA Director said the book is a product of her wealth of experience over the years in Nigeria’s marine environment.

“On behalf of NPA and the entire Environment department, I congratulate Dr. Felicia Chinwe Mogo on her formal exit from the public sector of Nigeria, NIMASA to be precise and her book launch.”

“I met her two years ago when I got moved to Environment department. Together we have worked seamlessly.I have learnt a lot from her wealth of knowledge and her doggedness. An internationally recognized marine environmentalist, she is one of the few black women highly recognized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), along with the likes of my able Managing Director, Hajia Hadiza Bala-Usman. She is retired but not tired, and I know this new phase of her life will be more results oriented than the former. I wish her all the best,” Khadijat said.
