NNPP Adopts Jonathan As Its Candidate
The New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP)

The New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP) last week in Lagos adopted President Goodluck Jonathan as it presidential candidate in the March 28 presidential elections.

Speaking at a press briefing, the National Chairman of the party Dr, Boniface Aniebonam who doubles as the Founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) said that in the light of the current security challenges in the country, the party had decided to adopt Goodluck Jonathan as their candidate.

“Like the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu said recently, you don’t change a Commander-In-Chief in the middle of war, we at the NNPP believe with current strategies now yielding positive results, there is no point in

changing the President now.

“For this reason, after due consultations with our members across the states of the federation, we at the NNPP have decided to adopt President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as our Candidate in the March 28, 2015 election. This is because the President has started a process which could not be truncated now.

“This is not by any means casting aspersions on the credibility or capabilities of other Presidential Candidates, we only believe we should rather have continuity at this stage in the history of our dear country. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to this special World Press Conference to make known to Nigerians especially and the World in general, the journey of our great party, the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP) so far and the course we intend to chart both in the nearest and far future”

Aniebonam who said he party had presence in twenty states of the federation, added that the decision to adopt President Jonathan as the presidential candidate was reached after a concerted deliberations among the National Working Committee (NWC) members.

He stated further that the lack of finance and state power are responsible for the party not to be able to participate in all the electioneering campaigns and processes hence, the agreement among the leaders to settle for GEJ as the anointed candidate of the party.

He continued “For this reason, we are using this medium to call on our members across Nigeria to cast their votes for President Jonathan in the March 28, 2015 Presidential election and at the same time spread the views: Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is doing more and talking less”.

He further stated that the party is ready and fully prepared for the elections, having met all the requirements slated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)

.” Fellow party members, gentlemen of the Press, distinguished guests, I am happy to inform you that having fulfilled all the requirements guiding the operations of political parties and the Electoral guidelines, NNPP is fully prepared for the March 28, 2015 and April 11, 2015 elections”
