NIFFCB Seeks Synergy with Freight Forwarding Associations

The Nigerian Institute of Freight Forwarders and Custom Brokers (NIFFCB) has called for collaboration National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF).

The call was made by the National President of the institute, Dr. Zebulon Ikokide when the management paid a working visit to the headquarters of the NAGAFF last week.

The National President of the Institute said such synergy will help to achieve the drive to train crop of dedicated individuals that can be of service in the freight forwarding industry so that so that positive contributions made into the sector are not tarnished.

Speaking further, he said the idea would rob off on the activities of the freight forwarders as there will be overall hitch-free operation because they would be dealing with professionally trained individuals in the shipping industry.

He said, “The president sir, our desire as an institute is to see that, the practice of freight forwarding is done professionally, hence the need to call on your management to assist the institute in this regard. Meanwhile, our doors are open to receive your staff for higher training on freight forwarding, supply chain management, logistics, trade facilitation, customs process and procedures among others”.

In this response, the National President of NAGAFF, Chief Eugene Nweke congratulated the team for being proactive adding that if there is anything that has caught the attention of NAGAFF, it is a professional freight forwarding vocation in Nigeria.

He added that there could not be true professionalism without ethics and professional codes of conduct and if the two are missing, it could not be called a profession, stating that the two factors can only come through the institute.

Chief Nweke said that for the institute to be able to spread its tentacles, it needs to establish a technical committee comprising key members of the institute and the associations.
