NCAA Bans Carriage Of Macbook Pro On Flights.

As part of efforts to prioritize safety of lives and properties on board planes in the country, the Nigerian 16,426 Flights Delays Occur In Six Months- NCAACivil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has banned the carriage of Macbook Pro laptop (Model: Retina, 15 MID 2015) on flights.

The Authority revealed this in a notice sent to all operators on Wednesday, last week signed by Director, Operations and Training, Capt. Abdullahi Sidi on behalf of  Director General of NCAA, , Captain Muhtar Usman.

According to the notice, the carriage of the Macbook laptop posed a threat to aviation safety as a result of overheating, emanating from battery problems.

“This is to inform all operators and service providers that the carriage of MACBOOK PRO (Model: Retina, 15 MID 2015) with immediate effect is hereby barred on all flights. This product has been recalled by the manufacturer due to battery problems, this presents a risk to aviation safety due to overheating” it read.

NCAA also urged operators and service providers to ensure compliance for safety.
