NACCIMA @60: Orakwusi To Receive Excellence Award

The Chief Executive Officer of Morbod Group and Board of Trustee (BOT) member of the MMS Woman of Fortune Hall of Fame (WoFHoF), Barr. (Mrs.) Margaret Orakwusi is set to be conferred an award for excellence by the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
NACCIMA identified Orakwusi as one of the topnotch personalities to be celebrated as Nigerian organised private sector group marks its 60th anniversary.
A NACCIMA letter addressed to Orakwusi, titled; “NACCIMA At 60 and Nigeria At 60 Excellence Awards: Awardee Letter of Notification”, said Orakwusi was a recipient of the award for her sterling contributions in the nation’s shippibg sector.
“On behalf of the Council and the entire Membership of NACCIMA, we are delighted to extend to you our warmest congratulations on being chosen as an Awardee for the NACCIMA at 60 and Nigeria at 60 Excellence Awards for your meritorious services/contributions to the growth and development of the Maritime Industry in Nigeria.”
“We view the 60th anniversary of NACCIMA’s founding, which coincided with the 60th year of Nigeria’s independence and sovereignty, as a significant milestone and a fitting occasion to highlight the irrefutable achievements of a great woman like you, to encourage others to emulate and adopt excellence as the benchmark for National Development,” the letter stated.
Orakwusi is one of the 60 awardees selected from various sectors; other eminent personalities scheduled to received the award include; the Director General of World Trade Organization (WTO) Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Chairman, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, Chairman, DAAR Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, former Super Eagles striker, Kanu Nwankwo, among others.
According to the group, the event was originally slated as one of its programmes for 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic scuttled its series of events lined up for last year.
“Due to the restrictions to contain the spread of Covid-19, we were compelled to postpone the ‘Excellence Award Ceremony’ until May 25th 2021, the letter added.
The Award Ceremony will hold at the International Conference Center (ICC), Garki, Abuja by 2.00pm, tomorrow.
Orakwusi is also the Chairperson, Nigerian Ship-owners Forum, a BoT member of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) Governing Board, a former President of the Nigerian Trawler Owners Association (NITOA).
